The brand became a member of the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) in 2015 and works to support more sustainably produced cotton – using less water and chemicals. American eagle doesn’t provide details about its supply chain, Regarding labour conditions, the brands regularly monitors the conditions in external factories. In 2012 around 130 factories out of 170 received an inspection. By the end of 2017 the brand aims to reduce carbon emissions.
